Local stars of Disney TV show sign autographs to help charity
By a Reporter
PETAL, MS (WDAM) - Two stars of the Disney XD original series "Kickin' It" who have strong ties to the Pine Belt spent some time at the Petal Civic Center Thursday, to help raise money for a local charity.
Dylan Riley Snyder, 14, who plays "Milton" on the show and Joel McCrary, 44, who plays "Bobby Wasabi," met fans and signed autographs to benefit the Petal Children's Task Force.
That organization helps low-income families with food and toys during the holidays and provides other types of assistance during the year.
McCrary is from Hattiesburg and Snyder grew up in Petal. Both are in the Pine Belt visiting family for the holidays.
"I love meeting fans of the show, meeting the people that watch it, drive the energy of the show and then also, to be able to help out the Children's Task Force," said Snyder.
I love coming home, back to Hattiesburg, coming back to Mississippi and being with real people," said McCrary. "I like L.A. a lot, but after a little while, I need to come back and get me some gumbo, real gumbo and po-boys," he said.
Snyder and McCrary just started working on the show's second season.
